Who does this policy cover?

Our privacy policy covers information collected by our website, request form, emails, texts and phone calls, and it applies to anyone who visits the site or submits a request for a personal loan.

Lenders and partners in our network that receive your request have their own privacy policies, which govern how they use your information once they have it. We encourage you to read the privacy notice each lender provides with its offer.

What information do we collect through the request form?

We collect the details you type into the request form, including identity, contact, income, employment, banking and loan-request information, plus technical data that your browser sends automatically when you visit.

  • Identity: name, date of birth, Social Security number and, if requested, driver's license or state ID number.
  • Contact: home address, email address and phone numbers.
  • Financial: income amount and source, pay frequency, employer, housing status and bank account and routing numbers for possible deposits.
  • Request details: the amount you want and what it is for.
  • Technical: IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, referring site and approximate location derived from your IP address.

How do we use your information?

We use your information to process your request, match you with lenders and partners in our network, prevent fraud, communicate with you, improve the website and meet our legal obligations.

  • Verifying your identity and checking requests for fraud or errors
  • Sending your request to lenders that serve your state and amount
  • Responding to your questions and privacy requests
  • Sending service messages and, with your consent where required, marketing
  • Analyzing site use to fix problems and improve our guides
  • Complying with laws, court orders and regulator requests

How is your information shared with lenders and partners?

When you submit the request form, we share your information with lenders and partners in our network so they can review your request, verify your identity, check your credit and decide whether to make you an offer.

We may also share information with:

  • Service providers that host the site, send emails or texts, verify identity or detect fraud, under contracts that limit their use of the data.
  • Other partners that offer related financial products, if no lender makes an offer or if you agree to hear about other options.
  • Authorities when required by law or to protect rights, property or safety.
  • A successor business in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.

Partners in our network may compensate us, as explained in our advertiser and lending disclosure.

How do we use cookies and analytics?

We use cookies, pixels and similar tools to keep the site working, remember your progress on the form, measure traffic and understand which pages and ads bring visitors to us.

Some cookies are set by analytics and advertising providers. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can use browser-level opt-out tools offered by many advertising networks. Blocking certain cookies may stop parts of the request form from saving your progress. Where your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of sharing for targeted advertising where state law requires.

How do we protect your information?

We protect information with encryption in transit, access controls, secure hosting and staff training, though no method of transmitting or storing data online can be made completely secure.

Only people and service providers who need the information to do their jobs can access it. Please protect your own accounts as well, and never send your Social Security number or bank details to us by ordinary email.

How long do we keep your information?

We keep request information only as long as we need it to provide the service, resolve disputes, prevent fraud and meet legal and record-keeping requirements, and then we delete or de-identify it.

Retention periods vary by data type and the laws that apply. Lenders that received your request keep their own records under their policies.

What choices do you have?

You can opt out of marketing, ask to see the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it by emailing [email protected] from the address you used on the form.

  • Email: use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email.
  • Text: reply STOP to any marketing text.
  • Calls: ask the caller to place you on the do-not-call list, or email us.
  • Access, correction or deletion: email us; we verify your identity before acting on the request.

Some information may be kept where the law requires it. Deleting data held by us does not delete data a lender already received; contact that lender directly. More ways to reach us are on our contact page.

What privacy rights do state laws give you?

Residents of California and several other states with consumer privacy laws may have rights to know, access, correct, delete and port their information and to opt out of its sale or sharing for targeted advertising.

Depending on your state, you may also be able to limit the use of sensitive information and appeal a decision we make about your request. We do not discriminate against anyone for exercising these rights. You may use an authorized agent, who must provide proof of authority. Some financial information collected for loan purposes is governed by the federal Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act instead of state law, so certain rights may not apply to it.

Do we collect information from children?

Our service is meant only for adults who are at least 18 years old, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13 or accept requests from anyone under 18.

If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.

How will we tell you about changes to this policy?

We will post any update on this page with a new effective date, and if a change materially affects how we use information already collected, we will give notice before it applies.

How can you contact us about privacy?

Send privacy questions or requests to [email protected], call (888) 353-4256, or write to 7317 Magnolia Road, Suite 207, Annapolis, MD 21401, marking the envelope Attention: Privacy.
